What are you thankful for? And what that means about your personal brand.

Today it’s US Thanksgiving. And although I’m Canadian, I can’t help but be influenced by the number of people speaking about gratitude today. And, since I’m a believer that you can’t be too thankful, I took the opportunity to share my gratitude today.

And it became VERY clear to me how tied in our personal brand it to what we’re thankful for.

What are you thankful for?

One of the pillars that I talk about in my brand foundations is Personal Values. And guess what we’re generally most thankful for? The things that we value the most.

When I share about my personal values (as an example to my clients), the two that I always share are:

  1. Family

  2. Accomplishment

And when I start to look at the things I’m thankful for, these become all the more apparent.

100% the first thing I think of is my family. My son for teaching me how to see the world with wonder again. My husband for being super supportive in everything I do. My parents for always agreeing to be there without hesitation. My in-laws for welcoming me into their family wholeheartedly. My sisters for helping me keep life in perspective. My grandparents for reminding me not to take any moment for granted.

And this year particularly, I’m grateful for the success of my business. While so many have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, my business has thrived. And I’m grateful to myself for pivoting when necessary, knowing what was right for me, and always following my heart to do what’s right for myself and others.

What that means about your personal brand

So, take a look at the things that you’re thankful for when you’re called to do so. Those things are primary indicators of the things that you value most in your life. This is the basis of your personal brand. And the more you can find ways to embrace these things, the more enjoyable your life will be.

Those moments we spend in gratitude are when we are in 100% alignment with our personal brand.

So notice.
