A New Direction for 2021 (an ode to 2020)

I’m not here to tell you who you should or shouldn’t be.

Or tell you not to idolize someone else you see.

In a world that’s moving really fast,

And points out all our flaws.

We can end up forgetting who we are, and how to pause.

Finding out true WHY and embracing who we are,

Are beaten down by algorithms and rules which set the bar.

“You SHOULD do this, you MUST do that, OR ELSE you just aren’t worth it”.

“I’m a Guru, all you need is my special magic bullet”.

“Without 20,000 followers, you’ll never make a sale”.

But all of this is nonsense.

None of it is real.

This noise it then distracts us from finding OUR solution.

Knowing who we are.

Making our contribution.

And in this personal journey, there’s something to remember.

Doing it alone is not the only way to venture.

There are people who are here to be a network of support.

To take care of our confidence when we inevitably fall short.

Because no one here is perfect, and we’re not meant to be.

What we ARE all meant to do is be the best version of our ME.

That’s why I wrote this poem, so no one need forget,

If you haven’t discovered the REAL you, your story’s not over yet.
